John Pumphrey

After completing a degree in Forest Resource Management, John worked in the forestry sector in the east Kootenays through the mid 90s up until 2000. Due to a decline in the industry in the early 2000’s, John moved to northern Alberta and worked in the upstream side of the petroleum industry. He applied his forestry experience and education to focus on Closure and Reclamation at one of the largest miners of oil sands at the time.

With a desire to return to the Kootenays after a number of years in the north, John returned to spend over 15 years working in the metallurgical coal sector where his experience spanned from operations through to developing and managing a junior mining company where he last served as President of the North Coal Ltd where he took the company from the first stages of exploration through to final feasibility studies and permitting phases.

Having an interest to return to the forestry Sector, he joined the Brian Fehr Group of Companies in early 2022 and currently sits as CEO of the Peak Renewables Kootenays Ltd, division of the BFG companies.
