About the Role
As the Member and Events Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in:
- Supporting and growing our Chamber membership through recruitment, engagement, and retention activities.
- Planning and delivering events—from flagship gatherings like the Business Excellence Awards and Women’s Conference to networking events and stakeholder forums.
- Serving as a front-line connector between the Chamber and its members, supporting local business success.
This is a permanent, part-time role (28 hours/week, Tuesday to Friday). Some evenings and weekends are required for event coverage.
What You’ll Do
- Process and manage membership using CRM tools
- Develop recruitment and retention strategies
- Provide new member orientations and support
- Plan and coordinate events, from venue logistics to sponsorships
- Manage registration, communication, and post-event updates
- Collaborate on marketing initiatives and Chamber communications
What You Bring
- A warm, welcoming attitude and genuine interest in community building
- Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and in team environments
- Excellent communication—verbal, written, and interpersonal
- Experience in event planning, member-based organizations, sales, or client services is an asset
- Proficiency in CRM systems and general office software
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business, marketing, or communications preferred
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales, member, events, or a related field
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards
- Passion for making a difference in your local community
