Free Seminars Show You How

Effective July 1, 2010, the provinces of Ontario and British Columbia have agreed to implement the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), replacing the existing provincial sales taxes and the federal Goods and Services Tax in those provinces.

The Canada Revenue Agency is preparing to administer the HST and is offering free information seminars to businesses, designed to help prepare you for a seamless transition to HST.

The seminars, entitled “The Proposed Transition to Harmonized Sales Tax – Information for Businesses”, will provide you with an overview of the HST, covering topics such as:

  • How the tax works
  • Applying tax to supplies, goods and services
  • Self assessing
  • Collection and reporting
  • Point-of-sale rebates
  • Where to get help

Learn what steps you need to take to prepare for the changeover and how the HST will affect your business.
