Chamber Offers Member Insight to City Annual Budget Process

How Can we Work Together to slow the rate of Property Tax Increases?

The Chamber is uniquely positioned to share its collective knowledge to help achieve the goals that we share with the City of Cranbrook.

The Chamber’s City Budget Subcommittee is carving out a pathway for our members to share their ideas and solutions with the City. The ultimate goal is to slow the increase of commercial and industrial property taxes in Cranbrook, to create better conditions for success for our existing members and businesses, and  to increase competitiveness for investment attraction.

As promised, the subcommittee has focused on building out an annual recurring consultation model to bridge the gap between Chamber members and the City of Cranbrook. Member feedback was heard, and the Chamber is providing an update on our progress.

The Subcommittee works under the guidance of the Chamber’s Advocacy Committee. Many of the Chamber’s priorities are items directly impacted by the City’s Annual Budget.
