Fernie Chamber Provides Exciting Update on Fernie’s New Downtown Coworking Space
2ND EDITION COWORKING
The Fernie Chamber of Commerce is extremely excited to provide an update on the opening of their
brand-new community coworking space in downtown Fernie. Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19,
the Fernie Chamber has continued to advance this project with interior renovations of the space now well
underway at 342 2nd Avenue, Fernie.
The Fernie Chamber today is announcing the name and branding of the new coworking space which will
be known as 2nd Edition Coworking. The Fernie Chamber’s Executive Director Brad Parsell explains, “The
name of the coworking space is a tip of the hat to its convenient downtown location on Fernie’s 2nd
Avenue. It also acknowledges the legacy of the building which has been home to the Fernie Free Press
newspaper for generations. As such, it will be the second version of this historic building and a second
place for local and visiting entrepreneurs and professionalsto work.” As previously announced, the Fernie
Free Press will stay on in the newly renovated coworking space as a founding member and anchor tenant
of the new coworking space.
2nd Edition Coworking has launched an email database and social media accounts so that interested
people can stay up to date on the progress of the space. You can subscribe to the new coworking space
e-newsletters by visiting www.coworkingfernie.com and be the first to know about coworking options,
memberships and pricing as those details become available. The Fernie Chamber will also be telling the
story of the journey of opening the coworking space, by sharing photos of the renovation and sneak
previews of the completed space. The Fernie Chamber is anticipating doors opening in late fall of 2020.
