THE STRUCTURE
Federal Boards of Trade Act, Part I
The Cranbrook Chamber aspires to adhere to the Governance model as outlined in the Federal Boards of Trade Act (BOTA), filed under Part I.
Our Board of Directors
The organization is governed by an eleven-member volunteer Board of Directors. The Board sets the overall mission, vision and priorities of the Chamber, by creating our Strategic Plan.
The Board of Directors employs an Executive Director as the head of operations. The Executive Director is tasked with delivering programming that reflects the Board’s work, with the support of a team of staff.
Non-voting Input & Insight
When the Chamber President’s term has been completed, that member’s role transitions into a mentorship position that we call the “Past President”. The Past President is a non-voting member of the Board of Directors.
We also welcome input & updates from two local government organizations – the City of Cranbrook & the Regional District of East Kootenay Electoral Area C. This is achieved through appointed non-voting liaisons who attend our Board meetings.

THE PEOPLE
The Chamber owes its success and longevity to the volunteer power of its members. Since 1910, some of Cranbrook’s strongest and best-known community leaders have stepped up to the plate to lead the organization. The list of Past Presidents
Chamber work is unique, rewarding and outcome-driven. Joining the efforts of the Chamber will provide learning opportunities, expand your professional network, & build long-lasting relationships in your community.
