KES Rural Entrepreneurship Development

The goal of the Rural Entrepreneurship Development Program is to support the development of new business ventures in the Kootenays. The program includes business startup information, business coaching, and access to industry information and coaching. Participants can access financial supports to help get their business off the ground.

If you have a business project that creates the equivalent of a permanent full-time employment position for one or more people, KES would love to hear from you and consider your project for support.

Supports can include weekly living payments, business information and coaching, short-term training, travel & dependant care supports. The program provides business planning supports focused on business startup, and access to business coaching.

THE PROGRAM SEEKS TO SUPPORT BUSINESSES IN ONE OF 4 STREAMS:

  • Childcare
  • Environmental Technology
  • Secondary Food Processing
  • Rural Economic business
