Chamber Advocacy Committee Digs into the Issues
Raising the voice of the business community

What Does Advocacy Look Like?
Our advocacy efforts span all levels of government. Whether it’s working with the City of Cranbrook on municipal issues, connecting with our MLAs and the BC Government on provincial matters, or engaging with our MP and the federal government, we act as a strong, unified voice for our members.
We also provide letters of support for initiatives that we believe will positively impact our local economy—from grassroots community efforts to larger infrastructure and policy projects.
Meet the Advocacy Committee
Behind this important work is a dedicated Advocacy Committee, made up of six passionate volunteers who bring a diverse mix of knowledge, experience, and commitment to Cranbrook’s future. Their work is driven by a shared belief that advocacy is not about opposition—it’s about building meaningful partnerships rooted in mutual respect.
Advocacy is a Partnership
We don’t work alone. The Chamber collaborates closely with a wide range of stakeholders, from government representatives to community leaders, to push for policies and projects that will benefit Cranbrook and the broader region.
Our collective vision? A thriving Cranbrook—one with successsful businesses that can provide well-paying jobs to support healthy families, vibrant schools, attainable housing, robust healthcare, and opportunities for all.
Why It Matters
Thriving communities are built on strong, resilient economies. The health of our business community is often a leading indicator of the broader well-being of our city. When local businesses struggle, it’s often a signal of deeper issues—and we take that seriously.
That’s why we listen. With over 430 members, we are constantly gathering feedback, concerns, and insights. These perspectives shape the conversations we have with decision-makers, helping to inform policies that serve our community’s best interests.
At the Chamber, we work to support our members
If you’re a Chamber member, we want to hear from you. Please tell us about the challenges you are facing and share the ideas you might have to address those issues.
