Chamber brings Provincial, Regional and local leaders to talk future of Tourism ______________________________________________________________________
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Cranbrook, BC, June 12, 2019. The June 19th Chamber luncheon is shaping up to be an exciting panel of speakers with special guests coming from around the Province to talk about the future of Tourism in the Region. Destination BC Vice President of Development, Richard Porges, will be on hand with CEO Paula Amos with Indigenous Tourism BC along with regional and local representatives from Kootenay Rockies Tourism, CEO, Kathy Cooper and Cranbrook Tourism Executive Director Kristy Jahn-Smith.
“No business is exempt from the effects of tourism in any community. For those businesses not directly working in tourism, consider that the clients you have today, if they are not born and raised locally, came here as a tourist first.” Says Kristin Parsons, Chamber Executive Director.
“Without the constant draw to bring more people to the region and the community, growth of the community will stale. We need to recognize the alignment of Tourism to all industries and find ways to support the growth of tourism in our area to help in growing our business community.” continues Parsons.
Business can expect to learn more about the future plans for Tourism Provincially and opportunities to work locally and regionally with indigenous groups to create and strengthen the tourist experience in the East Kootenays.
“This is a great opportunity for our local tourism providers to meet some of the leaders of the industry, learn about opportunities and provide feedback to key decision makers.” Says Kristy Jahn-Smith, Cranbrook Tourism Executive Director.
The event is open to the public, to purchase a ticket, please visit cranbrookchamber.com or call the Chamber at 250-426-5914. Registration will close on June 17th at noon, space is limited.
The event will be held at St. Eugene Resort on June 19th from 11:30am-1:30pm.
