FortisBC Step Code Training Continues with the Cranbrook Chamber
REGIONAL STEP CODE TRAINING A HUGE SUCCESS
Generating a draw of nearly 60 industry professionals from around the Kootenay region, We want to thank FortisBC for their incredible partnership on this annual training series.
On March 5th, 2024 – The Cranbrook Chamber hosted an accredited Step Code training by BCIT, which was our most successful event to date. The training took place at the Prestige Rocky Mountain Resort, allowing attendees to walk away with 6 CPD points that were pre-approved by BC Housing.
James Bourget with the support of Geoff Kirkpatrick instructed a half day training covering topics such as:
- Low TEDI
- ZEB Science Fundamentals
- Heat Pumps 101

As building requirements continue to progress along the BC Energy Step Code, The Cranbrook Chamber alongside Fortis BC are excited to support local industry professionals with annual trainings. We are hopeful that these will provide a smooth transition to new provincial building standards for the future.
The Cranbrook Chamber is currently working towards a Gap Analysis of the current regional practices to identify the gaps in education. This data will be used to best inform our programming and training for the coming year!
